Open 9 a.m•.6 p.m., Closed Sundays The lssaquah Press, Wednesday, March 16, 1983 - -5 Sunny Hills parents want more say Parents in the Sunny Hills area are concerned about how the school will be man- aged next fall, when the expansion project is complete and school enrollment could be as high as 650. The School Board received a letter signed by 126 parents saying they want to be i'n- volved in the changes at Sun- ny Hills when the fifth and sixth graders return next fall. The parents asked the district to hire an assistant principal to help manage the school, which will be about as large as the district's three junior high schools. They also asked that P.E. and music specialists be hired full-time and that aides be used in the classroom instead of helping teachers with paper correcting and mimeo- graphing. Parent volunteers could do that work, they said. They also asked to choose which teachers their children will be assigned to in the fall and questioned scheduling that allows fourth-graders two recess periods and lunch within an hour and 15 minutes. Assistant Superintendent Gary Newbill and Personnel Administrator Bob Eine will meet with parents to discuss the requests sometime in the near future• Laing meets constituents King County Councilman Bruce Laing, who is up for re-election this fall, will hold a "listening session" Tues- day, March 22 at the Issa- quah Library from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Laing represents the Issa- quah area on the County Council.
