The $5,000 stipend is awarded to college seniors planning to attend medical school. Last summer Bohrer studied under a fellow- ship at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts. She worked on a "wave modeling"project which described the magnitude and frequency of mixing events in the ocean's interior. This year she is working on a laser spectroscopy project with physics- engineering professor Dr. Donald Haueisen. A chemistry-physics major, she was in the top three percent of students nationwide taking the American Chemical Society's stan- dardized organic chemistry exam. She has a 3.9 grade point average.
